Note 2: In 1839, Franz Stollwerck opened a factory in Cologne, producing cough bonbons. By 1860 the production was extended by chocolate, marzipan and gingerbread. The factory was operational until the late 1970's. In 1980 the derelict Stollwerck was occupied and throughout the 80's used as a cultural centre by "Pallazzo Schoko and Regenbogenhaus" organisation.
