Note 2: In 1985 the band had a falling out with their label Au-Go-Go which from that moment on resulted in several parallel releases on the band's new label Karbon and several repackagings/compilations on Au-Go-Go. In this case, Au-Go-Go managed to secure copies of the multi track recordings and mixed them without any involvement of the Scientists or their producer, Peter Watts.

Notes: Their first release since 1987’s "Human Jukebox" album.

“Over in France I’d witnessed a couple of femmes singing and giggling to this piece of sixties iconography,” [..] “It seemed like fun, plus it had the Scientists minimalist vibe stamped all over it. Or could have. I made a mental note expecting to screw it up and throw it in the recycling. But no! We gave it a go.” With all this momentum another song soon rolled our way,” he adds. “‘Perpetual Motion’ is known by folk who were around for our embryonic Mark 2 genesis at our infamous Vulcan Hotel residency of early ’82. The song was only ever on an official bootleg of a live-to-air public radio broadcast (thanks, 2SER!)… until now.” Kim Salmon @ Music Feeds October 17, 2017.

Final overdubs, tracking and mixing @ Rolling Stock Recording Rooms, Collingwood-Melbourne (AU). Produced and mixed by Myles Mumford @ Rolling Stock Recording Rooms; Jozeph Grech @ Sumo Sound Studios and Finn Keane @ Head Gap.

Note: Most tracks recorded with the band all live in the same room. "I’d start recording myself and send it over to Tony [in London] and wait for him to send me a riff back. And that’s how we wrote most of the album [from June to October 2019]. I realized after the fact that Tony should be the riffmaster. Generally what happened was, Tony sent the riffs back, and then Leanne, Boris, and I got together, and the three of us knocked the songs into shape. That’s how everybody’s name got on the songs. In that part of the recording, Leanne does take a very active role. Once you start talking about form, how you’re going to execute it, she’s very much part of the writing process. They’re all part of it." Kim Salmon for Bandcamp.

" In November of 2019, the Scientists finally got inducted into the Western Australian Rock Music Hall of Fame [on 31-Oct-19]. Utilising the fact that were all in one place, we booked studio time in a Perth Studio with my friend Josef Grech who recorded us. A couple of songs we’d already recorded via the internet and they were done with another friend of mine, Finn Keane, at Head Gap Studio just down the road from me. All of the results were taken to Myles Mumford at Rolling Stock Recording Room for me to track vocals and oversee various other overdubs. Tony made a special trip out for that and we got various people to play strings, percussion, backing vocals." Kim Salmon interviewed for New Noise Magazine.
