Jeffrey Lee Pierce/Gun Club - Magazines/Fanzines

Slash Magazine -front SLASH (Magazine)

Content: Jeffrey Lee Pierce used to write for Slash magazine from August 1979 to July 1980. He covered mainly Jamaican reggae artists, some blues artists and LA punk bands.

Slash was a punk rock related fanzine published by Steve Samiof and Melanie Nissen in the United States from May, 1977 to September, 1980. The magazine was a large-format tabloid focusing on the Los Angeles punk/new wave scene, but also covering the scenes in San Francisco, New York and London. Writers Claude "Kickboy Face" Bessy (from France), Craig Lee, Richard Meltzer, Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Chris D., Phast Phreddie, and Pleasant Gehman, and cartoonist Gary Panter were among the major contributors. Photo contributors included David Arnoff, Ed Colver, Jenny Lens, Ann Summa, coeditor Philomena Winstanley and many more..

Gunfire fan club zine-front JACK ON FIRE/GUNFIRE (Fan Club zine)

Content: Jack On Fire (#1-3) and later Gunfire (#4-15) was the quarterly zine issued by Gene Temesy, president of the US fan club, which ran from 1988 till 1998. Each issue was stacked with exclusive and insightful interviews with all key players in and around the band, as well as tons of great photos.
